3/31 broken/ fixed

Everytime I move studios I do a series of broken hands and subsequent casts as a sort of voodoo/ votive for good work in the new studio.
I feel like if I can imagine the worst, and paint it fixed, all good works.....
I also like the concept that the paint is the wound and the bandage...........

Usually I do the series lifesized, but recently on occasion of my new studio, and a show about such superstitions at MASS MOCA, I did the series very large. Hadrian large.
This set both injury and recovery are 5 x 7 ft.
They are now on a van to Massachusetts, for the show that will open May 23 rd in North Adams.
